Sunday - 1/10 - Internet slow
I'm sitting in the Takatu. Since yesterday we've had difficulty connecting to the internet so I'm not sure how much I'll be able to share in the next few days. I will say that it continues to be very interesting. I've met a number of people here. There is history here that needs to be shared. The hotel Takatu is run be a family whose history is unique. The father is a man of African descent who made a trip here in the 40s and then returned. As his daughter said he is one of the first "pioneers" of African descent. His story is one story in the midst of many stories related to the different groups that make up Lethem's community.
